After 2 nightmarish days of waking-up-at-7am to get rides to my office on my dad's car, my car was finally done with the repairs this afternoon. The workmanship is outstanding at an affordable cost of $480, bringing my bumper and bonnet back to near-perfection, except for a little dent-mark remaining due to the impossibility of shaping the bumper back without a mould, and the grill which cannot be replaced at the moment due to the unavailability of stocks. Nevertheless, it's extremely well-done.
Upon reaching home, I had some roti prata followed by a bath, and then finally settled down to tend to my latest 2 purchases - a DVD of Hot Fuzz and a Linkin Park album, Minutes to Midnight. Hot Fuzz is a movie released in the UK a few months back, but it has never been to Singapore yet. I was actually looking forward to watching it cuz the main casts include 2 of my favorite actors, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It's about this outstanding policeman from the city being posted to a seemly peaceful and quiet town, only to discover a huge conspiracy in the town and finds himself and his partner in danger. It delivers the same humor as other Simon/Nick shows do, and includes a large dose of action along with a tint of mystery. I'm listening to Minutes to Midnight as I'm writing this entry. Seems to be a very promising album so far, with several tracks I've already begun to fall for.Wednesday, May 16, 2007

Took a lift in my dad's car to work today, as both my sis's and my car are still at the workshop. Talk about efficiency, I woke up at 7.25am to reach the office at 10.30am, the same time which I reach my office usually, only that I wake up at 9.30 instead of 7.25!
A usual day at work, doing research on Facelets and JSF 1.2 (some web technology thing). However, an incident which still tickles happened. A chinese-national pirated-video peddler actually came down to our premises today to peddle her wares, only to be barked at and followed by one of our guard-dogs, and she came running up into my office in search of refuge, not knowing my office is actually home to that that particular dog which was barking at her! After reassuring her that the dog is actually incapable of biting, we got her to leave. Waiting for knock-off, and looking forward to watching 28 Weeks Later later this evening.

Mishaps
Hmm.. Looks like it's been another very, very long while since I've blogged. Trust me, my interest is there but discipline isn't.
I'm going through another wave of unlucky events lately, as things don't seem to be turning out well for me. I had a mini-accident on the road a few weeks ago when a loose part from a cranky old car flew off and hit my bumper. The following week, I parked my car at the carpark at Ikea Tampines, only to return to see a HUGE scratch on my bumper, and another car parked HEAD-IN beside mine which had a corresponding scratch. Some idiot must have bumped into my car accidentally. I paged the owner at the information counter and confronted him, only to receive denials. Ok, now for the best part. After recovering from a high fever last Friday, I met with yet another accident on the AYE, when a FEMALE (yes, FEMALE) driver jammed brake in front of me without any apparent reason, dealing moderate damages to my bonnet and bumpers. Alot of other minor mishaps took place as well, but they are not really worthy of any mention. I really do feel that I need to do some major organization to put my life back into place. My room's getting dusty, I'm getting feeble, and life's just getting stagnant. Maybe I should take a break from everything for a short while to sort things out and renew myself once again.
